‎...conversation with Ellie last night:

Me: (while I sweep up the dry oatmeal she spilled) Ellie,you sure made a huge mess!
Ellie: I didnt make that mess!
Me: My heiney you didnt make this mess!
...Ellie: I didnt make this mess on your heiney mommy!

Another conversation with the kids last night,talking about our spaghetti sauce.

Jude: Does the sauce have meatballs?
Me: No,just ground beef.
Jake:Does it have cheese it in already? It looks like it has cheese in it.
...Ellie: It looks like diarrhea.

I wish I kept better track of these little anecdotes,but lets be honest...my brain is like mush!

Why is Ellie still sick?

This just isnt letting up! The poor thing looks terrible. Today she has just been miserable.I have never seen her like this-she is the happiest kid and today she has just crumbled under the tiniest thing.She has hardly eaten for a week,it just worries me!

The worst part is I cannot get motivated with her like this.There is just something about a sick baby that just makes you want to do nothing but cuddle them.Thats pretty much all I have done for days.

The flu is ridiculous! So is snow!

It has gone through 4 of out 6 of the kids so far.It is lasting a week and as a result confining me to the house.I keep feeling like I might be getting it,but then I feel better again.SO annoying.

We got snow on Sunday-so pretty but kept the kids out of school for 2 days.Yet another reason to confine me to the house.

On a brighter note-I lost a pound this week! Hallelujah!

Ok,I am on the downhill stretch to 40.I turn that dreaded number in November.I am about 30 pounds overweight.(WOW-I just put that out there.Ouch)

Two summers ago I did the South Beach diet and lost 25 pounds.Well,alot has happened since then and I have gained it all back.I started back on it a week ago and I have lost 3 ounces.The last time I lost 5 pounds in a week! I dont know what I am doing wrong! Is because I am closer to 40? My body is different now.I dont know.UUUUUGH....I just don't want to get myself down and fall off the wagon.I feel so much better.More energy,less bellyaches,etc.I need to stick with this! Encourage me people!

Ok,admit it,everyone has something they LOVE that might just embarass them a little bit.I have a few.I thought maybe I would share a few of them with my multitude of readers...(ha ha ha)

Guilty Pleasure #1-That honor goes to Mr Drake Bell. I never missed an episode of Drake and Josh on Nickelodeon,because it was so darn funny.Soon after I discovered Drake Bell is a musician.He isn't too bad of one either! He has a page on Facebook-Drake Bell. He isnt very mainstream in the US,but he is very popular overseas and in Mexico.His music is kinda cheesy and silly and I love it.It makes it nice that Ellie loves it too,so I dont feel so silly when I crank it in the car.

Guilty Pleasure #2-Yo Gabba Gabba.I LOVE this show.I watch it with the kids.It is so wild and wacky and funny.I get told regularly that I am nuts about this one.I dont care though,DJ Lance rocks my socks!

Ok-one more for today-since I can't really think of anymore right now.Remember the old days of Blue's Clue's? Remember Steve,the COOL host? Well I adore him....I couldnt even watch Blue's Clues anymore when he left.It was ridiculous.He even has his own band! Here is a link to some info on him. Steve Burns

Last night I was reminded that I haven't blogged in a very long time.I knew I had let it go by the wayside-but I didn't realize how long! 2009 was a YEAR ago! LOL

So,lets see....life has been crazy.Ellie is THREE now.She is the cutest,sassiest,infuriating child in the world.She is potty training,which is wonderful.She recently got glasses due to a slight lazy eye problem and it is just ADORABLE. She is just so big and knowing she is my last baby makes it so sad for me.I keep teasing Chris about overseas adoption but he isn't going for it! lol

The other kids are doing great too! Jude finally potty trained a month after he started kindergarten,LOL.... ( for a reminder of my issues with this you can visit this post http://thesoperzoo.blogspot.com/2009/09/boots-n-noodles.html ) He isnt doing well in school though-its like he has become his teachers arch-nemisis! It makes me sad b/c I know he can do so much better-but we are working on a solution so these problems dont persist in 1st grade.

As for me,I just celebrated my 15 yr wedding anniversary with my wonderful Chris.I adore that man for putting up with me for all this time. I got 3 tattoos (pics on this post) and gained all the weight back I lost last summer.Im working on that now....and Im going to chronicle that to some degree on this blog. I dont want to bore people TOO much! When the first 20 pounds is gone Im getting a new tattoo and I want my nose pierced too....who knows if the latter will happen though.

Last week the family travelled to Cincinnati so I could be there when my brothers first baby was born.I went to the hospital bright and early with the family.We really had a great day.Well,I knew when I got there I would get to be in the room when he was born,but I had no idea that I would get to HELP!!! My brother,it turns out is very squeamish,and he didnt want to be "down there" when the baby was born.I was jokingly telling the ob that I could help him deliver the baby,since I have so much "experience". (lol) Anyway,I got to actually do it! I can honestly say,short of giving birth to my own babies,it was the most incredible experience of my life.

The Doc delivered the babies head and shoulders,and I got to finish (with his help of course) Again,it was amazing.

Ok...so I need new bras,one of the downsides of losing weight.So I brought some pretty ones from Victorias Secret.Theyre all pretty and cute and I feel like a million bucks in them until I bend over.WHOOPS! The girls are loose!

Correct me if Im wrong,but for $42 shouldnt they be a little bit more supportive? I mean for $42 I can buy a kid from a third world country to walk around behind me and hold them up.....Ok-maybe not,but you get my point.

I really miss blogging. I dont know why I dont do it more often.It is probably because I am crazy busy with the kids.Ellie is like a little blue streak,I can barely keep up with her.Right now she is only in a diaper and a pair of rain boots that are 4 sizes too big.Try taking them off of her and she will hurt me.Its not pretty.She is also carrying around a pack of noodles.As soon as she saw me coming she threw them and sat down and refused to let me take her pic.I fooled her though-even though it is blurry I got it!

Im in a quandry with Jude,he just wont potty train.He does ok with "#1" but "#2" is not happening in the potty,period.Not even once.He turned 4 in June,and I have tried everything short of chaining him to the toilet and nothing works.Makes me wonder how I did when I was little,maybe I should ask my Mom.LOL

Well,the kids I have noticed my attention is elsewhere and theyre starting to break things,so ends this installment.

She was found on the street right behind us! She just happened to show up at a home where we had talked to the family,and given them a flier!She hopped up on thier kitchen window and they called us right away! We got SOOOOO lucky.She has been home for almost 2 weeks and her whole personality has changed.She was always a very gentle, sweet cat but she wasnt the type to hang out.Now she wants to be with us,held and loved on all the time! Ill take it!!! Im so HAPPY she is home!!!

It turned out to be a wonderful night! Nearly everyone we invited was able to come.Even my dearest friend from Ky who was my Maid of honor when we got married in 1995.It was so wonderful because my parents almost couldnt make it,and got cheap plane tickets at the last minute. We got the Pastor of our Church,Josh Patrick to perform the ceremony and our Music minister,Michael Cooper to do some guitar and boy it was amazing! The whole thing turned out nearly perfect! I only wish I hadn't burst out in tears and flubbed my vows! LOL

Life is CRAZY!

You never know what kind of cards you're going to be dealt.Right now,to be honest with you,I really cannot complain about my life.my kids are healthy,my husband is WONDERFUL.We are renewing our wedding vows this weekend in front of about 50 of our closest friends.My parents and his parents are comings,as are my original maid of honor and her hubby and daughter,which is SO exciting.We're going to deast on Memphis BBQ and have cake that a dear friend is making.I just couldnt ask for anything more.

Life would be perfect if it wasnt for these darn SEIZURES! LOL

Yes,seizures.

Turns out Ive been having seizures,not sure for how long.When I had my medical testing last week I had six of them during the test.So now I am on medication and I am not allowed to drive for SIX months.Talk about a bummer.Now,I havent been driving alot lately anyway b/c I havent been feeling very good anyway,but knowing Im not ALLOWED to drive,well it just SUCKS. I dont like feeling dependent on others,I dont like asking for help.I dont like being STUCK! I dont like not being able to just grab happy meals for Micah.Frankly,he doesnt like it either.I suppose in the grand scheme of things it is a minor inconvenience and in August (!) the curse shall lift,but that seems like SO far away! So for now I remain stuck and deal with the numb face and hands from the meds and thank the dear lord Jesus for the mercy he HAS shown.

Last week Josh said this verse is his sermon,and it has been with me ever since.(at least I think it was last week-my brain is not functioning well these days-ha ha)

Matthew 6:25-26 - Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. I got to go shopping for a pretty dress,high heels and new hose! The hose were sucky and ripped when I put them on the first time...but oh well.

We went to a benefit for Big Brother Big Sisters and it was alot of fun.Nike was one of the sponsors and everyone there got new Nikes for free.It saved my life because I suck at walking in heels.

You have to hand it to Gillian.The girl is creative,if not a little weird.She decided she wanted a boy Barbie,so she took her Snow White doll and cut its hair off.(well Maddie did this part)She then colored in a beard,mustache and thick eyebrows.

I swear I dont think we have ever laughed so hard in this house.When I told her I wanted the head for my keychain-she gave me the head,and made her own out of paper and purple marker.

In case youre wondering,we did buy her a REAL Ken doll this week.

We had FUN today!!!! We had a big old playdate and had a BLAST!!!

Merissa and Brodie,Joni and Lily,and Stefanie and her 3 boys came over and boy did they wear each other out! We had a nice big breakfast,( I made casserole and everyone brought goodies to share) played outside and then went to the upstairs playroom.Everyone started getting tired so we had to call it a day-but I cannot wait to do it again!!!

Well,Mrs Williams has family about 30 mins from us so she came and visited us today.I didnt tell Gillian b/c I wanted to surprise her,and it was so funny.Gillie had a weird reaction-it was like she was totally confused and couldnt place her.When she finally figured it out it was SO cute-she was so excited and couldnt get enough of her.

So we had a cookout today and invariably a few flies got in the open doors. There was one buzzing around and Ill be dipped if it didnt land in an open waterbottle on the kitchen island. So me,in all of my brilliance thought-'Ill drown the fly in the bottle!" I tell you what-God knew what he was doing when he created the house fly. I put the lid on the bottle and kinda shook it a little to get it wet,it didnt sink. Ok,so then I turned the bottle upside down so I could submerge it and kill it that way. THE FLY GOT A WATER BUBBLE AROUND IT AND SWAM UP THE SIDE OF THE BOTTLE AND RIGHT BACK UP TO THE TOP! After doing this over and over for about 15 mins I got the bright idea to shake the bottle hard to make the fly tired-NOPE. The stupid thing always landed on the top of the water and started buzzing around again. I thought about letting it go ouside,but then I thought about the karma of it all and how the stupid thing would prolly get back in the house and go up my nose in my sleep. So I left it in the bottle,took a sharpie and wrote "DONT DRINK THE FLY" on it.

So Chris is out of town until Thursday night.So you read my previous post,I was busy yesterday.I could have added more things to it but I figured everyone had enough.

Ellie has a bit of a runny nose and some diarrhea.So she was up SCREAMING til 1 am with a belly ache and sore bum from pooping.

So I didnt get to sleep til after 1am,and woke with my delicate bladder screaming at me at 5:15.

Didnt fall back asleep.

So Ellie is next to me eating banana chunks at an alarming rate,and happy as a clam.It's just wrong.

Feminine vs masculine douches

Ok,so I went to Target and Im in the feminine aisle.What can I say,its almost that time of the month....

Anyway-there is the row of douches.I notice on the boxes they all say FEMININE DOUCHES.

Which brings to mind the question....

Are there MALE douches?

I mean there are defintely some male DOUCHEBAGS out there.

Male douches though?

I shudder at the thought of where they would put it!

Jakes birthday present

He decided last night he wanted roller blades.

So we took him today after our IHOP Mothers Day extravaganza to get a pair.

He is scaring me to death.He thinks he is better at them than he really is.

I cant stand to watch him fall.I can totally see why they recommend the wrist guards and they will be purchased very soon.I will probably go to Target and get them when Chris gets home.

Part of me is weary b/c Ellie is SOOOO high maintence right now..makes it hard to devote time to ANYTHING let alone all 6 kids.

The other part of me is so GLAD I wont have to do the before school routine anymore.

No more of Jakes huffing and puffing because he is too tired to get out of bed.

No more of constantly wanting to tell Micah to SHUT UP b/c his little man voice resonates through the whole house.

No more of having to tell Maddie to HURRY UP!

No more of having to ride Gillian like a pack mule to get her ready and telling her EVERY MOVE she has to make in the mornings.THIS IS NOT AN EXAGERATION.

No more missing bike helmets.

Well,for the summer anyway.

Chris and Ellie went out last night and bought my Mothers day gift.

He showed me the box-but wouldnt tell me what is in it.

Who thinks they can guess?

The box is about 5-6 inches long and about 5 inches tall.

The person who guesses correctly gets a handmade piece of jewelry.Yes,I will make it.

If a guy guesses it right-Ill go to Walmart and get him a pair of socks or something.

Contest runs til midnight Saturday.

It SUCKS!

Seems like it has done nothing but rain since we got here.A couple of months ago we had a full fledged tornado siren warning scare the hell out of the kids fiasco.We (correction I-since Chris was at work) had all of the kids huddled into a TINY bathroom,all of them screaming and freaking out.the same thing happened later that evening-all of them came FLYING out of bed,out if thier poor little feeble minds.So today there were tornadoes Northeast of us,the closest about an hour away.Unfortunately,they had tornado drills at school.Now,dont get me wrong,in theory,tornado drills are a great thing.However,when you have paranoid,hyper, easy to freak out children like I do.....it could scar them for life. Jake even told me his friends "really helped him through" the drills today.Poor kid,he may end up institutionalized if we live here for too long!

So right now,Chris and our neighbor Scott are all at the Big Foot Lodge getting the sasquatch burger.They also took 4 of Jakes friends-one being Scotts son.Those boys make Jake look like a shrinking violet.I mean-you almost smell the testosterone in the room when theyre all here.No...wait...thats the Axe body spray they doused the upstairs in.Whoops,my bad.

Anyhow,Chris has standing orders to being me home some deep friend pickles.

Today is Jake birthday.It seemed fitting to start this blog on the birthday of my firstborn.

He is 11 today.I feel old.

We asked what he wanted for his birthday dinner,and he wants to go to Red Robin.So-tonight we drag all 6 kids to Red Robin for hamburgers.

We dont have his birthday gift yet,he wont tell us what he wants.Correction-he wont give us a REASONABLE request.

When did gifts become so complicated? When he was little he loved to get Hot Wheels and things like that.He wants a LAPTOP now-thus the reasonable remark.

Sorry pal-aint gonna happen!

He is having a sleepover tommorow night with 4 of his friends.I am SO glad everyone he invited is coming.Since we just moved here I was worried they wouldnt.One thing I have learned though,is that people here dont mind sending thier kids to other peoples houses,even if they dont know you from adam!

Jake and Chris went there 2 weeks ago and brought home so much of the sandwich we fed the whole family lunch with the leftovers.It was really quite yummy.OH-and he also brought home deep fried pickles.I have to put in an order for those!
